Prepare Your Child for the Future

Infants/Explorers (Birth – 8 months)

Our explorers’ classroom is a welcoming and nurturing environment where your baby will be cared for by kind and gentle teachers. Here, your little one will begin to develop foundational physical skills while making lasting emotional connections with peers. The teachers will prioritize your child’s needs and well-being, gently guiding their cognitive, physical, and social development.

Your child may develop the following skills:

– Turning towards sounds and noises

– Rolling or attempting to move towards a toy

– Beginning to sit with support

– Showing social interaction through smiles and mutual eye contact

– Looking at their caregiver when their name is called

– Starting to establish sleep/wake cycles

Mobile Infants/Adventurers (9 – 17 months)

Your baby will continue to grow and learn actively by exploring their surroundings. They will become more independent as they achieve new physical skills such as crawling, standing, sitting, and walking. They will start to learn by trying things on their own and using different objects and tools. Teachers will build strong social-emotional connections with your adventurer!

Your child may develop skills such as:

– Pointing to or frequently turning to favorite parts of a book

– Turning pages in a book

– Pointing to and moving towards an object or activity

– Engaging with objects to learn about them

– Reaching for or asking to play with a new toy or object introduced by an adult

Toddlers/Discoverers (18 – 36 months)

In our Discoverers classroom, your child will continue to develop important physical skills, such as drawing and working with puzzles. They will also begin to explore new objects and subjects with curiosity and a spirit of experimentation. For example, they will learn about letters, shapes, and colors, while also fostering a love for books!

Your child may develop the following skills:

– Participate in health care activities, such as washing their hands

– Eat with a spoon and fork, and drink from a cup with some assistance

– Walk or run easily from one place to another

– Climb on chairs, stools, and playground equipment

– Express affection for familiar caregivers, such as telling a caregiver “I love you” or greeting them with excitement

Preschool/Pathfinders (3 years)

Your child will continue to grow in physical, cognitive, social, and creative areas! They will participate in various engaging activities designed to challenge and stimulate them. Trailblazers will begin to reach important milestones, such as developing early literacy skills like writing, reading, and reflecting. Teachers aim to instill accepted social practices, encourage independent thinking, foster teamwork, and cultivate a love for learning in your child.

Your child may develop skills such as:

– Using their senses to explore and learn from the environment

– Showing interest and interacting with others about their work or actions

– Demonstrating curiosity about new materials and experiences introduced in the classroom

– Asking questions to enhance understanding (e.g., “How does that work?”)

– Observing others at play and asking to join in.

Pre-k/Pioneers (4 years)

In our Pioneers classroom, your child will begin reaching new milestones! They will continue to enhance their literacy skills, including reading, writing, spelling, and recognition. Teachers will introduce new topics and build upon previous subjects such as math, science, history, and English. Your Pioneer will also form lasting friendships and create wonderful memories with their classmates!

Your child will develop the following skills:

– Follow three-step directions

– Explain the steps needed to complete a task

– Communicate the desired outcome or goal of a task or activity

– Break tasks into smaller components and complete them one at a time
